The House of chamber and organ music (Kharkiv, Ukraine).
A creative director – a international contests prize winner, an organist Stanislaw Kalinin.
The first information about Kharkiv organs appeared in the middle of the XIX century. It is known, that the oratorias “7 words of the Saviour” and “The World creation” by I.Geidn, “Elijah” and “Atalia” by F.Mendelssohn were performed under the direction of the 1st Kharkiv University teacher of the music, composer and conductor F.Schultz in the Lutheran church and in 1854 the performance of the organist I.Pollack in the Catholic church. After the Revolution, 1917 activity of the most of church institutions was stopped and there was no organ in Kharkiv over a long period of time.
In 1984 the masters of the famous Czechoslovak company “Rieger-Kloss” created the organ for Kharkiv within the bounds of the special/specific program. The Krnov designers, who had a big order for instruments for the USSR, worked out the original “altar” model of the concert organ, depth of the organ-body (“prospectus”) was much more than its width. The Kharkiv organ has 3574 organ-pipes, 3 manuals, 48 register (47 and 1 transmission) among them there are 8 spots and 7 mixtures. The specific acoustics of the Uspenskiy Cathedral enriches the sound of the organ and produces beautiful atmosphere for the classical-music performance. |
